What it sounds like: Trance is one of those genres that have very little patterns that must be followed in order for it to be considered trance. The music has hypnotic qualities.

Roots/origin: Trance did not really become know as we know it today until the end of the 1980’s. “It was not until trance moved to Europe where the trance scene began to explode and later fully developed into the music we know today.

During the 1990s, trance music became part of the club scene in many European countries, especially Germany.

First form of trance music formed in the early 1990’s. By 1996, trance sounds had started to creep into UK clubland. And by 1998-1999, trance had become the big sound iin UK clubland. In 2000 trance became mainstream.
